Superman (Brandon Routh), who has been looking for his roots, returns to Krypton, hoping to find other companions, but everything there is long gone. And this has been gone for five years. Five years later, Superman returned to Earth, but everything around him has changed. He discovers that the earth is used to not being protected by Superman, and Louise (Kate Bosworth), whom he has always admired, won a Pulitzer Prize for writing a story on why the world doesn't need Superman. On the other hand, his nemesis Lex (Kevin Spacey) uses despicable means to swindle a huge inheritance in an attempt to make a comeback. Can Superman defeat the demons and once again save the earth from water and fire?
