The alcoholic middle-aged uncle Bud (Kevin Costner Kevin Costner) has just been fired because of drunkenness. Having fun every day, he is not interested in family and state affairs, but has a shrewd, precocious and independent-minded 12-year-old daughter Molly (Madeline Carol Madeline Carroll). The US election is just around the corner, and according to Bud's experience in the first half of his life, it has nothing to do with him because he knows nothing about voter qualifications and has never registered. This year, however, Molly has quietly completed all his applications with a flick of his finger. However, what is even more unexpected is that due to the failure of the voting machine, Bud's vote has become the key vote to determine the outcome of the US presidential election. At a time when all kinds of media and candidate teams swarmed in, Bud and his daughter were pushed to the forefront of the wind and waves. How will Bud, an ordinary citizen who has never been involved in politics, face and judge this sudden situation? how will he cast his key vote?
