Taxi to the Dark Side (2007)
In 2002, Dilawa, an Afghan taxi driver, was arrested and taken to Bagram Air Force Base on charges of participating in terrorist acts and firing rockets and missiles at the US military. A few days later, the military announced that Dilawa had committed suicide, but the dead were covered with scars, particularly serious leg injuries, and were apparently brutally ill-treated before death. The director of this film takes the Dirava incident as a starting point, through a large number of materials, photos and interviews to expose the crimes committed by US troops in the occupied areas of Afghanistan and even in Iraq, Guantanamo and other places. And further discuss the necessity of inhumane interrogation measures taken by the United States Government, CIA and the military to obtain military intelligence. This film won the 2008 Academy Award for Best documentary.
