In February 2006, young Luke underwent team practice from a high school student. In a severely irresponsible and reckless teen driving situation, which exceeded the objections of Luke and other young passengers, the driver lost control of the car almost 90 miles per hour, spun down a narrow road, and landed about seventy feet below the embankment. Luke suffered irreparable brain damage and died in hospital two days later-just four days before his 16th birthday.
