In their twilight years, seven British old people went to Jaipur, India for a holiday. Among the seven, the understanding Evelyn (Judy Dench Judi Dench) tries to live independently after losing her husband; Justice Graham (Tom Wilkinson Tom Wilkinson), who suffers from heart disease, has unspeakable secrets; Douglas (Bill Nye Bill Nighy) and Joan hope to improve their ossified relationship; and Norman and Maggie, the old urchins, are always looking forward to having an affair. As for Muriel (Maggie Smith Maggie Smith), she always looks a little cold and mean while waiting for surgery. Each of the seven people with worries were attracted by exotic advertisements and stayed at the Marigold Hotel. But the real hotel is not as comfortable as advertised, and this spiritual trip to India is not as satisfactory as expected. In a strange country, people start a new thinking about the rest of their lives, and they do not want to regret for the rest of their lives and strive for a happy ending.
