Carol Ballard, the director famous for "one hundred thousand miles home", is a blockbuster. In a dramatic lyric style, a boy drifts to a desert island with the black colt in a shipwreck, and the man and the horse establish a two-in-one relationship. Later, when they were rescued and returned to human society, they came across a veteran equestrian coach who was trained to be an excellent racehorse and a young jockey who won the championship in a race. The photography of the whole film is very beautiful and moving, especially when the child star Kelly Reno was playing with the black horse on the beach, showing the extreme beauty of nature in the audio-visual effect. Mickey Rooney's horse trainer also plays an important role in the film, and the triangular interaction between the old, the young and the horse breaks out a touching spark, which can be called a first-class masterpiece of the same kind of film.
