In 1966, a ship floating in the North Sea of the Atlantic Ocean was home to a rock and roll radio station loved by British listeners. Carl (Tom Sturridge Tom Sturridge), who dropped out of school because of drug abuse, is sent here by his mother Charlotte (Emma Thompson Emma Thompson) to meet people who love music and advocate freedom, such as Quentin (Bill Nye Bill Nighy), The Count (Philip Semmerhofman Philip Seymour Hoffman), Dave (Nick Frost Nick Frost) and so on. On the other hand, senior government official Sir Alistair Dormandy (Kenneth Brana Kenneth Branagh) decided to try to crack down on illegal radio stations. As the government puts pressure on the station's sponsors, the station's revenue continues to decline. At this time, Gavin (Reese Evans Rhys Ifans), who has been abroad for two years and now enjoys an international reputation, decided to return home and solved the problem.
