The Cars That Ate Paris (1974)

During the Australian recession, Arthur and his brother drove around looking for work in vain. When they saw a sign in the small town of Paris saying "there are job opportunities", they immediately changed their way, but the lights at the corner of the mountain road caused them to have a car accident. Arthur survived and took in the mayor's family. Car accidents near the town are unusually frequent, and residents tear down the accident vehicles each time, stuffing the injured into the large population of patients in the town hospital. Arthur was afraid of driving because he had been in an accident, so he had to stay in town. Idle young people drove around with modified old cars all day. Arthur recalled the accident with doubts, but the mayor's good intentions had to be silent. It turned out that the unemployed in the Paris town made a living by making a car accident, and the mayor who tried to arrange a job for the young people finally clashed with them, and a bloody scuffle broke out on the night of the dance.
