The film tells the story that during the 2008 US election, California passed a controversial Proposition 8, which defined the right to marriage as a marriage limited to a man and a woman. as a result, the gay community in California lost the legal right to marriage that they had just acquired four months ago. Then, in order to fight for marriage equality, two pairs of California same-sex couples and proponents of Proposition 8 began a long battle in court over whether Proposition 8 was unconstitutional.
