The mother (Songjia Richter Sonja Richter) is seriously ill, and the brothers Alma (Harald Kaiser Hermann) and Eric (Albert Rudbeck Lindhardt) are left uncared for and can only be sent to a boarding school run by the headmaster Huck (Lars Mickelson Lars Mikkelsen). Huck is a man who believes in violence. He firmly believes that only through force can the children in school be truly convinced and guided to the right path. The two brothers were tortured in this prison called the school, and the promise that their mother would pick them up at Christmas became the only motivation for them to survive. However, they waited and waited for the news of their mother's death. Lillian (Sophie Grubb Sofie Gr å b ø l), the new literature teacher in the school, is keenly aware of the inhumane atrocities taking place in the school, but there is nothing she can do about it.
