Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Coleman will star in a new film based on French novelist and playwright Florine Zeller's stage play Father. Hopkins plays the role of a naughty and highly independent man who refuses all help from his daughter Anne (Coleman) as he grows older. However, this help became crucial after Anne decided to move to Paris with her partner. When his father was faced with ever-changing circumstances, he began to doubt the people he loved, his own thoughts, and even his realistic structure. Zeller will direct the film and co-write the screenplay with Oscar-winning screenwriter Christopher Hampton. The film will begin filming in the UK this month. The film's producers include David Pafitt (Shakespeare's Love), Jean-Louis Levy (lips), Philip Kakasson (fashion pioneer Chanel), and so on. The stage play, written and directed by Zeller, premiered in Paris in 2012 and won the Moliere award for best stage play. The show was later staged on Broadway in New York and the West end of London, where it also won the Tony Awards and Olivier Awards for Best Actor.
