The story takes place in a colorful city, and a river called "colorful River" runs across the city and becomes an important part of maintaining the vitality of the city. Crayons such as Xiao Huang (voiced by Christina Ritchie Christina Ricci), Blue (voiced by Wayne Brady Wayne Brady) and Little Green (voiced by Jess Hamel Jess Harnell) have a common owner, Ben. Whenever Ben goes to sleep, the crayons will be resurrected, return to their hometown colorful city, and play heartily. One day, an unfinished black-and-white painting followed the crayons to the colorful city, and it came up with the idea of the colorful river when it wanted to dye it very much. The security of their homes has been threatened, and the anxious crayons are determined to unite and vow to protect the homes on which they live. In the end, can these little crayons win?
