Mahmoud (Omead Giali Omid Djalili) is a good husband who loves his wife deeply, and a good father who is very responsible to his children, but he is not a regular Muslim Puritan. For him, religious belief is nothing more than drawing a circle on the ground as prison troubles. Happiness and freedom are Mahmoud's religious teachings. Mahmoud's son Rashid (Yigal Naor) is old enough to get married and has a very lovely fiancee. However, sadness still hangs over the young man because his future father-in-law is a very stodgy and conservative Muslim priest. If he wants to marry his daughter, not only himself, but also his whole family must pass his test. At this juncture, Mahmoud was shocked to find that he was not a Muslim, but an adopted purebred Jew.
