Fantasy scientist Janos Rukh persuaded another group of scientists and sponsors to explore Africa in order to find and study an ancient meteorite of extraordinary value. Janos was exposed to toxic radiation from the meteorite and was rescued by an antidote invented by doctor Benet, but his contact with other people killed them immediately. After returning to London, doctor Be net used controlled rays from meteorites to restore the eyesight of the blind. The toxicity of the antidote provoked the paranoid rage of Professor Janos Rukh, who retaliated against the members of the expedition and accused them of stealing his discovery for personal honor
