In 2000, Amir (Khalid Abdalla), a well-known writer from Afghanistan in California, USA, received a phone call that brought him back to his childhood. Amir (Zekiria Ebrahimi) is a rich young man in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 1978. Hassan (Ahmad Khan Mahmoodzada), the son of servant Ali, is his loyal sidekick and playmate. The two took part in a traditional kite-fighting competition, and Amir experienced something unforgettable, and their fate changed: Ali and Hassan left Amir's home and heard nothing; with the outbreak of the war in Afghanistan, Amir and his father emigrated to the United States to live a new life. The phone call is from my father's old friend Rahim (KhanShaun Toub), hoping that Amir can go to Afghanistan to find Hassan's son Sohrab (Ali Danish Bakhty Ari), waiting for Amir, in addition to the devastated hometown, unbearable past events, but also difficult to talk about.
