The Laramie Project (2002)

No intimate sex scenes, no lingering hugs and kisses are just a group of people telling the story of a brutally murdered gay teenager: on October 6, 1998, an appalling tragedy took place in the American town of Laramie, which is considered to be a paradise. Matthew Shepard, 21, was beaten to death by two equally young teenagers because he was gay. Five young people from the troupe came to the town and visited residents from different strata of the town. The film recreates the events of that year in the form of interviews, from the origin of the incident, the incident, the treatment, the funeral, the trial to the end of the incident. The case showed from the beginning that it was unusual, and the residents of the town could not deceive others with "ordinary robberies". At the beginning of the interview, some people avoided it, others avoided talking about it, and they were skeptical and cautious about the interview. An old woman (we later learned that she was the mother of the policewoman) told the visitors that they did not want to comment on the incident, it had nothing to do with them, and they were not involved in the incident, which is the general attitude of the residents of the town. Yes, they try to show a kind of indifference to it, but it is impossible. The tragedy will be changed forever.
