The story takes place in the Victorian period of the 19th century in England. The little protagonist Sarah (Shirley Temple Shirley Temple) was born into an aristocratic family, but her mother died when she was born. Father Captain Crewe (Richard Greene Richard Greene) sends Sarah to a girls' aristocratic school because he is going to fight in South Africa. When he learned of Sarah's aristocratic status, the headmaster treated her like a princess. But on Sarah's birthday, news came from the front that her father was dead and missing. From then on, Sarah's situation was so different that the headmaster drove her out of her beautiful room and treated her like a lowly servant. But the strong Sarah did not give up hope, on the one hand, she is still helping others, on the other hand, she is looking for her "dead" father everywhere, she firmly believes that her father will not leave him. Finally, a miracle happened. This film is adapted from the classic "Little Princess" by Mrs. F H Burnett, a world-famous writer of children's literature.
