The manned spaceship Ares 3 successfully arrived on Mars, but a devastating storm hit the astronauts. Ares 3 was forced to interrupt its mission and return urgently. During the evacuation, astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon Matt Damon) is hit by parts blown down from the spaceship. as there is little hope of survival, his teammates have to hurry back and announce to the world the fact that he has died. Unexpectedly, Mark survived with a very low probability. He hid in a space base on Mars to heal his wounds. The next Mars mission will be four years away, and the supply on the base will only last him for 31 days. After a brief period of despair, Mark decided to use limited food to grow crops on this empty planet in search of a glimmer of life. At the same time, the earth soon discovered the fact that Mark was alive, and they tried their best to deploy the rescue plan. Can Mark, who is fighting alone, wait until the rescue team arrives?
