The story takes place in the United States in the 1950s. Mickey (Rachel Brossnahan Rachel Brosnahan) and her husband Joey (Michael Zegan Michael Zegen) have been married for many years. They raise their children together and live a happy and happy life. Joey has always wanted to be a talk show actor. Every weekend, he goes to the club to perform. However, Joey's talk show career has always been tepid. One day, after another failure of the show, Joey collapsed. He confessed to Mickey that he was having an affair, and immediately packed his bags and left home. Overnight, Mickey became a woman abandoned by her husband. In the midst of sadness and despair, Mickey stepped onto the stage and made a brilliant speech, which made the audience laugh. Club waitress Susie (Alex Bnostin Alex Borstein) discovers extraordinary talent in Mickey and decides to become her agent.
