The Medusa Touch (1978)

Writer Morlar was found killed in his home. The killer was so cruel that he shot him in the head with a statue. While Sheriff Brunel and assistant Duff were taking evidence at the crime scene, they were surprised to find that Morlar's body suddenly began to rise and fall-it was gasping for breath. The doctor found that although there was no pulse, Morlar's brain was still very active, and something seemed to be stopping him from dying. Brunel found many unknown words in Morlar's diary, and one of the names "Zonfeld" caught his attention-a psychiatrist. The doctor told Brunel,Morlar that he believed that his life had directly or indirectly caused countless deaths, including his own parents. But doctors classified all this as a coincidence and diagnosed him with severe paranoia. As the investigation went on, Brunel realized that it might not be as simple as paranoia. Why can Morlar come back from the dead? Why has no family of the deceased ever suspected him? What on earth do those weird phrases in the diary imply? Does he really have the ability to control death, as he says he does?
