The Naked Civil Servant (1975)

Quinton Crisp is one of the earliest public homosexuals in Britain, and his autobiography Naked Public servant is the most influential homosexual biography of the 20th century. He painted his eyebrows red, dressed brightly, and was eloquent. John Hutt portrays the character with both form and spirit, not only performing Quinton Crisp's striking narcissism and maverick, but also portraying the old-fashioned homosexuals as out of place in the open age.
