The story tells that the little boy Bastian Bux is infatuated with a book called the never-ending Story, which attracts Bastian Bux so deeply that he even fantasizes that he is the most important character. The fantasy country described in the book is gradually engulfed by emptiness, and the queen cannot resist emptiness because of her serious illness, so the fantasy country sends the brave Atreyu to look for medicine to save the queen. Bastian Bux experiences every part of the fantasy country and knows every character in the pursuit of Atreyu, with the ups and downs of Atreyu's joy and frustration. The reason why the fantasy country is swallowed up by the "emptiness" is that it is a country created by human fantasies, and when human beings no longer fantasize and forget those fantasies, of course there is nothing left.
