Single mother Jane (Heather Loklair Heather Locklear) lives with her two daughters Holly (Hilary Duff Hilary Duff). Although Jane was good at taking care of her two daughters, she made a mess in dealing with her feelings. She always started living with a bad man, then quickly had problems and finally broke up. It was hard for Jane to change her boyfriend like a lantern. They always lived in an unfixed place with their mother, moving from one boyfriend's house to another and from one city to another. In order to live a normal life, Holly decided to use her strength to help her mother find a reliable and perfect man. Holly officially took action when she found out that Jane's colleague, the kind-hearted Lanny, began to pursue Jane. She secretly sent flowers, email and wrote love letters to her mother in the name of Lanny, but Lanny, who was honest and uninteresting, failed to win Jane's heart. Holly's actions escalated further, but things began to get out of control.
