The Proposition (1998)

In 1935, an upper-class couple in Boston wanted to have children, but her husband Arthur (William Hutt) was infertile and his wife Elena (Madeleine Stewart) suggested that her husband might as well spend money to get her pregnant. Arthur agreed, so Roger (Neil Patrick Harris), a law student at Harvard, won the election. Father McKeelon (Kenneth Brenner), who has just arrived in Boston from England, only wants to preach the gospel, deliberately avoids high society and does not want to associate with them. However, when Arthur found out that Roger liked Elena and threatened to kill Roger, the helpless Elena turned to him for help. Unexpectedly, the always untroubled priest fell in love with the charismatic Elena.
