Railroad Man is adapted from Eric Eric Lomax's autobiography of the same name. Lomax, a British soldier captured by the Japanese during World War II, was forced to work as a railway laborer in Burma-Siam (formerly known in Thailand). He suffered unimaginable physical and mental destruction, and he could not escape from the shadow all his life. Thirty years later, Lomax learned that one of the Japanese soldiers who had tortured him was still alive, and he decided to meet him, not to seek revenge, but to make peace with the past.
