Little Danny Reynolds and her mother Laura lead an idyllic life in the Big Sur area of California. Laura teaches Danny at home. After Danny shot a fawn, the authorities took him to the local orphanage / school to study and live. This makes the unmarried man deranged. At first, the school administrator, Bishop and Reverend Dr. Hewitt, thought that the unfettered Laura was immoral and of no redemptive value. In the end, they fell in love and began an illegal affair. The episode "the shadow of your smile" was nominated for the 38th Academy Awards Interlude Award and the 1966 Golden Globe Award for Best Interlude, as well as the original score Award for this year's Golden Globe Awards.
