The Seventh Continent (1989)

The protagonist of the story is the father, mother and daughter of a middle-class family. It is obvious that their income is not only enough for food and clothing, but also the relationship between family members is very harmonious, so on the surface, the family is very happy. Their lives are very regular. In the morning, the mother wakes her daughter up, then washes her face and brushes her teeth for breakfast, just like most people. The garage door opens twice a day. Dad drives out in the morning and drives home from work in the evening. Father, mother and many city dwellers have long been used to spending every day like this. But the daughter is still young, her life should be colorful and full of accidents, not only in school, but also in the family. The rigidity of the middle class made her feel neglected and she couldn't stand it, so one day she suddenly pretended to be blind to attract everyone's attention. The daughter's move aroused the adult's thinking. Middle-class parents realize that, like most of their peers, they regard work and making money as their primary goals. They work hard only for the work itself, and they work hard to make money only for the money itself. After everything is easy, their lives have become neither challenging nor interesting. They just exist, but they are not.
