In 1942, the second World War entered a white-hot stage. In the South Pacific, Japan and the United States competed fiercely, and the bottom line of humanity was completely destroyed in the sound of gunfire. The Charlie Infantry Company, which belongs to the US military, received an arduous task. They were ordered to land on the island of Guadalcanal and retake the 210s occupied by the Japanese. The Japanese army has a geographical advantage and its defense is impregnable. But the orders were like mountains, and even the officers and men of Charlie Infantry Company had to forge ahead courageously. This group of young men devoted themselves to this cruel flesh-and-blood battlefield for the so-called justice. The film is based on American writer James James Jones's 1962 novel of the same name and won the Golden Bear Award and honorary mention at the 1999 Berlin International Film Festival; the Chicago Film critics Association Best Photography Award in 1999; the Australian Film critics Association Best Foreign language Film Award in 2000; and the Best Foreign language Film Director Award in 2000.
