"Journey to Italy" is a sequel to Michael Winterburton's 2010 film "The Trip," in which Steve Coogan and Rob Brighton travel from the British Lake District to the Mediterranean Sea to begin their culinary journey. Two old friends, six big meals, a country with delicious food and beautiful scenery. Coogan believes that in the film, they will "drive through the most fascinating scenery we have never seen in our lives, and the two of us can only express our shock through constant noise." In some of the scenes in the film, Coogan appeared as Tom Hardy (who starred in Batman: the Dark Knight Rises), which was seen as a "well-intentioned tease and imitation of the movie Batman: the Dark Knight Rises".
