The True History of the Kelly Gang (2019)

Russell Crowe, Nicholas Holt, George McKay and Ace Davis have joined the new biographical crime drama, the True History of the Kelly Gang (The True History of the Kelly Gang), directed by Justin Kutzer (Macbeth and the Assassin's Creed), which will begin filming in Australia in March next year. Sean Grant ("Jasper Jones" and "Berlin Syndrome") wrote a screenplay based on Peter Carey's Booker Prize-winning novel of the same name, which tells the legendary life of Australian Greenwood hero Edward "Ned" Kelly. Kelly is recognized as the last and most famous Greenwood hero. Exiled in Australia because of a family accident, he founded the Kelly Gang with his brother and friends to fight against riot police and the government, during which he murdered several police officers. Dressed in bulletproof armor and engaged in a fierce shootout with the police in the last battle of his life, he was seriously injured and became the only survivor. He was sent to prison in Melbourne and hanged in 1880 at the age of 25.
