Colonel Faulkner (Richard Burton Richard Burton) is hired by famous banker Sir Edward (Stuart Granger Stewart Granger) to rescue African freedom fighter Lindbani (Winston Ntshona). However, in private, Sir Edward has a secret deal with dictator Chane to exchange Linbani for copper mining rights in an African country. Colonel Faulkner, who was kept in the dark, summoned his former comrades-in-arms and formed a highly effective death squad, named the Wild Goose Expenditure Corps. After a series of intense training, the group set foot on their "battlefield" with pride. When Linbani was successfully rescued and ready to evacuate, Colonel Faulkner found that they had been stood up by the transport plane that was supposed to pick them up. The clever Colonel Faulkner soon understood what had happened and that the most important thing now was to survive.
