Eddie Kay (Michael Biehn) is an ordinary watchmaker who lives in Los Angeles. One day, he succeeds in producing a mother and her infant child from a burning apartment. Eddie becomes a hero overnight. But the halo of the hero did not bring him good luck, but brought him bad luck. Taylor (Richard Jordan), an official of a mysterious government department, saw Eddie's feat on TV and ordered Eddie to be assassinated. Although the assassination failed, it seemed to open the floodgates of another space. Eddie is constantly plagued by nightmares and strange influences. He asks the psychiatrist Anna (Patsy Kensit) for help and unwittingly finds himself a complete stranger.
