Tulpan (2008)

Asha (Ondas Besikbasov) returns to the prairie after retiring from the navy and lives in the tent of his sister's family. His brother-in-law introduces him to Tupan, the last girl to be married nearby. Asha only talks about the news of the sea in front of the other two elders, but the girl behind the curtain thinks he is big. The brother-in-law was vexed by the failure of Asha's blind date, and the ewes in the flock were often difficult to give birth, but Asha, who could not start a family, could not assume the responsibility of a shepherd for the time being. Unbearable brother-in-law cold-faced Asha came to the door to ask for family again, although he was refused again, but Asha really fell in love with this girl after peeping at Tupan from the crack of the door. Life on the prairie is hard and lonely, and the news on the radio and his good friend Tony often play the temptation of the outside world. The time for herdsmen to migrate was coming. Asha had a big quarrel with his brother-in-law and left angrily, but he was stopped by a difficult ewe. The film won the "one kind of concern" award at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival and the Golden Kirin Award at the Tokyo Film Festival.
