On Broadway, New York, drama director Oscar Jaffe (John Barrymore John Barrymore) celebrates actress Lily Garland (Carlo White Carole Lombard), becoming a Broadway box office guarantee and a couple. After three years of cooperation, Lily secretly went to Hollywood to act in movies because she couldn't stand Oscar's excessive interference in her private life. Oscar angrily hired a new actress, but it did not do well at the box office and got into debt in Chicago. On the 20th century train from Chicago to New York, Oscar happened to be on the same train as Lily. Oscar tries to save Lily, whether it's love or acting, but Lily already has another lover and is not interested in working with Oscar again. There happened to be a multimillionaire with a bad brain on the train. Oscar used the millionaire to write him a check and tried to get Lily to sign the acting contract. However, the so-called "millionaire" turned out to be a mental patient, and Oscar had no check in his hand.
