Italy in the 14th century was shrouded in the haze of the Black death, and many young men and women sought refuge in the countryside. Lorenzo (Hayden Christensen Hayden Christensen) is a handsome young man who flees to a monastery in the countryside after offending Lalata, a wealthy local aristocrat in Florence. He stayed in the monastery because he was mistaken for a mute by a nun, doing some chores. After a long time, Lorenzo found that the nuns in this monastery were so empty and lonely that she mistook him for a mute who could not speak and came to him for pleasure. During this period, Lorenzo fell in love with the beautiful girl wearing a veil at first sight, and they fell in love with each other day and night, though they didn't know each other's identity. Coincidentally, Lorenzo knew that the girl's name was Pombinia (Misha Barton Mischa Barton), who was targeted by Lalata because of her beautiful appearance, and was betrothed to the villain Lalata because of her father's debt. In the face of Lalata and a large group of people came to force Pombinia to marry, for the sake of his beloved lover, Lorenzo stepped forward and had a fierce competition with Lalata. The film is based on Bhagaccio's novel the Ten days.
