In 1946, when seven-year-old David Cox (John C. Riley John C. Reilly) accidentally cut his brother Nate in two while playing, his father was so sad that his son, who was proficient in piano dreams, had a bitter grudge against David. David gave full play to his musical talent with Nate's instructions before his death. A 14-year-old performance got David involved in the center of public opinion in the town. He couldn't stand the cramped environment around him and rushed to his musical dream with his 12-year-old girlfriend.
