Writer Robert (Nathan Fillion) takes his wife Molly (Kendra West) to a cabin on the lake in the suburbs for a vacation. Molly once had endless fear of water because her daughter drowned, and has always lived in a gloomy mood. This vacation was to allow her to relax and breathe, but she did not expect that she would encounter a complex and bizarre case. One day, Robert happened to see a police officer about to shoot a dying woman, Lei (Emmanuelle Vaugier). In a panic, Robert bravely rescued Lei and accidentally killed the police officer. According to Lei later said, the police officer named Dodd forcibly assaulted her and tried to kill her to silence her. Robert did not have much suspicion, but that there were 200,000 yuan in cash on the police car at the scene, as well as intimate photos of Lei and the local mayor, which made Robert puzzled.
