This is a simple and tragic war film about a hopeless defense on the Westblad Peninsula, once called "Polish Little Verdun" by the German press at that time. The film fills the gap in the film history of this important period of history. This film also uses the shooting techniques of comparative documentary and connotation! On the one hand, through the hope of the soldiers and even the final despair, it reflected the indignation and spurning of the Polish people at that time when Britain and France declared war against Germany and allowed them to destroy their allies (Poland) through a "sit-in war". On the other hand, in addition to showing the bravery of the Polish officers and soldiers, it also shows you the chivalrous demeanor of the Wehrmacht officers who are the victors in the end! As a film shot in'67, it is commendable to do this! Tidbits: the Westblad Peninsula (Westerplatte), derived from Dutch, meaning "sandbar in the west", is located at the mouth of the Veswa River, the largest river in Poland, with a length of 1700 meters and a widest point of 600m. In 1924, in accordance with the resolution of the League of Nations, Poland established a military transit warehouse on the peninsula. On September 1, 1939, German warships began shelling the peninsula.
