Pepe (Keisha Custer-Huyce Keisha Castle-Hughes) is the granddaughter of the chief of the ancient tribes on the coast of New Zealand. The mother once gave birth to a dragon and Phoenix fetus, but unfortunately she and the baby boy died, and her discouraged father went away, leaving the orphan girl to be brought up by her grandparents. Grandma loves her very much, while Chief Colo (Rawiri Palatine Rawiri Paratene) once thought that her granddaughter was ominous. What is even more troublesome for Colo now is the problem of heirs. The tribe has a strict creed: the heir must be male. Colo was extremely distressed to see that his son could not inherit the family business. He chose a strong man from among his clans, hoping to train him to become a leader, but the result was very unsatisfactory. On the other hand, his granddaughter Pei is practicing all kinds of martial arts and is determined to take over his grandfather's burden. Colo is determined to follow the rules of his people and does not allow women to become leaders. It wasn't until a whale was stranded on the coast that things began to turn. With excellent courage and ability, Pei made Grandpa change his decision.
