19-year-old Andrew (Miles Teller Miles Teller) grew up in a single-parent family and wanted to be a top jazz drummer. One night when he was practicing at school, he was photographed by Devil mentor Fletcher (J K Simmons J.K. Simmons), joined a regular band, and began to pay the price for perfection. The harder Andrew practiced, the more isolated he became from the outside world. The only one who understood him was Fletcher, but his grumpiness and moodiness distorted the teacher-student relationship and changed Andrew's character. When Andrew finally took the stage at the New York Concert Hall, he was horrified to find that Fletcher had been waiting to dust him. Burst drummer tells the story of a teenager who challenges his limits and pursues the dream of a jazz drummer by unconventional means under the supervision of a strict teacher. The protagonist loves to play drums, but excessive investment makes him lose his original intention to music, and then evolves into the load of life and the almost crazy duel between master and apprentice. The film is not only the pain of musicians, but also makes people see the cruel truth behind the traditional inspiration. The burst drummer won the 30 th Shengdan.
