Women Without Men (2009)

Sirina Saud's first feature film was adapted from the magical and realistic novel of Iranian writer Shanash Pasipur, which was banned in 1989. The film tells the life adventures of four Iranian women in the summer of 1953, when the CIA subverted the Iranian government, the popular Mossatay government was overthrown and the king regained power. The film focuses on the pursuit of change and mysterious encounter of each woman, encouraging women to fight against social taboos and eulogizing freedom.
