Carl Allen (Jim Carrey Jim Carrey) has passed his thirties, but his life is a complete failure although he has no worries about food and clothing. He divorced his wife three years ago and has always lived a single life. He works in a bank, but he is basically in a state of waiting for death and no hope of promotion. In his life, he refuses to socialize with others, but prefers to stay at home and watch movies, and his whole life seems to be shrouded in a thick gray fog. On the advice of a friend, Karl comes to an organization called Mr. Goodman for consultation, and under the guidance of his mentor Terrence (Terrence Stamper Terence Stamp), he tries to answer every question in his life in the affirmative. This small change turned Carl's life upside down, with honor, money, opportunity and love coming one after another. when he was full of confidence, he found that life was not as simple as he thought. The film is adapted from the British comedian and writer Danny Wallace's autobiography of the same name and won the 2009 MTV Best Comedy performance Award (Jim Carrey).
