The CW edition is based on the 1990 French film Nikita Girls, the 1993 American remake Nikita: never look back, and the 1997 TV series Nikita Girls, co-produced by the United States and Canada. Nikita (Li Meiqi Maggie Q) is sent to a women's prison for robbing a store to resist arrest and killing a policeman. It was later rescued by a secret government organization codenamed "Division". The organization forged Nikita's death certificate and gave her the opportunity to start a new life-training her to be a spy and top killer so that she could serve her country. But after division killed her lover, she saw the truth and ran away from the organization. After three years of hiding, she made a comeback and decided to expose the organization's plots and secrets at all costs. On the other hand, she placed an insider Alex (Lindsey Fonseca Lyndsy Fonseca) into the organization to do undercover. And Michael (Shane West Shane West) is the head of the hunt for Nikita, but has a sympathetic feeling with her.
