The timeline of the Legend of Korra is set 75 years after the Avatar: the Last Air Zong, the protagonist Cora is the next female avatar after Aang, born in the southern aquarium tribe, passionate and rebellious, she has mastered the three elements of water, fire and earth at the beginning of the story, and then will learn the art of gas bending under the guidance of Tenzin, son of Aang and Katara. The stage of the story is fixed on the fictional city of Republic City, a metropolis powered by steampunk technology, inspired by Shanghai (1920-1930), Hong Kong, Manhattan, Vancouver and other cities. In Republic City, the high incidence of crime and anti-bending are the problems that Cora will face.
