Pedro (Bidro Armendre Pedro Armend á riz), Robert (John Wayne John Wayne) and Eberlin (Walter Brennan Walter Brennan) work together to rob a bank, are hunted by the police, and the three escape into the desert. Detective Polly (Ward Bond Ward Bond) knows that what the three men need most in the desert is water, so they lay an ambush under each water tower. In desperation, the three robbers had to endure hunger and thirst and look for a chance of life in the desert. The three men accidentally met a dying woman who had just given birth to a child, and the woman entrusted her child to three big men. The three men who have never taken care of the baby can only act according to the only baby care manual and the Bible. Although the environment is very difficult and the situation is very dangerous, the three men are still enjoying themselves and firmly guarding the life of the baby.
