The story takes place during World War II, when Zhou Zuo (Eijiro Higano) is seriously ill and loses hope for life. He comes to a hot spring hotel in Okayama Prefecture and decides to end his life there. In the hotel, Zhou Zuo met a 17-year-old girl named Shinko (Masako Nakamura). Under the careful care of Shinzi, Zhou Zuo gradually returned to health and rekindled the hope of life. When Zhou Zuo saw the new son again, three years later, Zhou Zuo did not cherish his hard-won health, but would live them in alcohol and play. Zhou Zuo planned to invite the new son to die together, but the new son's cheerful personality finally gave up the idea. Time continues to flow, the new son and Zhou Zuo's feelings are still constantly entangled, in order to wait for Zhou Zuo's unexpected arrival, the new son has not been married.
