William Wilberforce (Ian Gruffudd Ioan Gruffudd), 21, is persuaded by his friend William Pitt (Benedict Cumberbatch Benedict Cumberbatch) to join the British Parliament. The two men jointly led the anti-slave movement and waged a fierce struggle against their opponents. However, the bill drawn up by Wilberforce on anti-slavery was rejected by Congress. The physically and mentally exhausted Wilberforce was exhausted by the infighting in Parliament and suffered from colitis. In 1797, when he came to a friend's house in the country to rest, he met his admirer Barbara Spooner (played by Lomara Garry Romola Garai). Wilberforce told her about the cause he had fought for, and the two fell in love and got married. Finally, in 1807, the Wilberforce bill was partially passed, and the ranks of the anti-slavery movement began to grow. Based on the archetypes of William Wilberforce, a British politician, reformer and advocate of abolition of slavery, this film tells the story of his long-standing anti-slavery movement and struggle against opponents in the 18th century British Parliament. The film uses computer technology.
