An Inlet of Muddy Water (1953)

Muddy current is divided into three chapters, which are adapted from the three short stories "Thirteen Nights", "New Year's Eve" and "muddy current" written by the Japanese female writer Yoshiba Takaguchi in the Meiji period. Director Masaishi Imai is a representative figure of Japanese leftist films in the 1950s. In this film, he takes the fate of women as the main line of development of the story, showing in detail the lives of the common people in the Meiji period.
