Anna Karamazoff (1991)
A strange and rare film. The story takes place in Leningrad in the 1940s, a dark and empty city, where countless ghosts are hiding in imperceptible corners and quietly watching everyone passing by, as if waiting for someone. She, a woman who had just been released from the government's reform-through-labor camp, had no name or past, her train arrived in the city, the streets were empty, and the incomplete buildings hinted that the shadow of war remained. She walked aimlessly, she came to the apartment where she once lived, and now things have changed. A group of witches in strange clothes occupied there. She came to the hotel. The badly damaged room and suspicious eyes of others made her unbearable. There is no place for her in the world. In the station, a strange sound sounded, and the cries and footsteps of the children drew her curiosity. She came to the huge building with exquisite utensils on the table and a spacious room with an inexplicable oddity. There was a patter of rain outside the window, and the sweet voice of a child came from behind, and the girl stood in front of her, she and her family-the motionless, stiff-looking little brother and the silver-haired, absurd grandmother. The girl is playing the piano, she and the girl.
