For one yuan a day, the housekeeper of the rich owner found a strong boy to be a "horse" for his disabled little master. Among the influx of applicants, a mentally disabled boy finally won the one-dollar-a-day job. The "horse" carries his little master to school every day, and has to put up with his tyrannical temper and competitive character. A beggar girl on the roadside seemed to brighten both people's lives. Both the master and servant began to pursue the little girl in their own way, and the little master finally won the contest. From then on, the "horse" willingly became an animal. The film, known as the Iranian version of Les Miserables, is directed by Iranian director Shamira Makmaabaf, who is famous for her films Apple and the Blackboard. The film has been selected in the "Asian Windows" section of the Toronto International Film Festival and the Busan Film Festival.
